About Us

“I welcome you to the community of people who have decided that EASY will no longer suffice.”
~Mark Rippetoe

This is the heart of our mission.

We are adventurers in recovery, choosing movement, nature, and challenge not because they’re easy — but because they’re real. We’ve traded avoidance for action, isolation for connection, and comfort for growth.

Our nonprofit is built on a simple truth: recovery is not just about what you leave behind — it's about what you move toward. Rock climbing grounds us, but the trail, the mountain, and the open sky are all part of the healing.

This movement began when our founder, Brian Witmer, broke the Guinness World Record for the most vertical feet climbed in one hour. What started as a personal challenge became something bigger — a call to use climbing and the outdoors as powerful tools for recovery and reconnection.

We climb, hike, and explore not to escape life, but to engage with it. Out here, the work is real — and so is the reward.

This is a place for those ready to live recovery in motion. Whether you're new to the path or miles in, you are welcome here. You belong here.

This isn’t the easy route. But it’s the one that leads forward.

Welcome.

Mission

We help people in recovery reconnect—with nature, with others, and with themselves—through climbing, movement, and shared adventure.

Vision

We envision a world where recovery is celebrated, healing is active, and every person seeking recovery has access to a resilient community that climbs together—choosing the harder path, and rising because of it.
